Syrian director Hatem Ali began shoots this historic movie about the last Egyptian king, Farouk
The film has been shot both at Al-Ahram Studio in Cairo and in the UK.
Egyptian actor Yahya Al-Fakhrani attended the opening function. He was originally considered for the role of King Farouk (his wife wrote the script a decade ago). Since he declined to accept the role for reasons of advancing age, the choice fell on an upcoming Syrian actor, Tim Hassan.

Hatem Ali, the Syrian producer of the film said, “the choice of Tim Hassan was not deliberate but rather because every Egyptian actor we approached declined to accept the role.”
The film is to be shot at locations in Cairo, Alexandria and several other European cities.
